Renu Kapoor was appointed to the Regina Public Library in June 2004. She is currently a private consultant in the Counselling and Social Work field.
Renu's volunteer contributions include India Canada Association, Osteoporosis Society, YWCA Women of Distinction Awards, India Supper Night, Operation Eyesight Universal, United Way of Regina, Saskatchewan Health Care Excellence Awards, International Exchange Foundation, Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers, New Dance Horizons, and the City of Regina Social Development Grants Board. Through her personal philosophy to "give back to the community what it has so richly given us", Renu continues to make a difference in Regina as a leader and role model. In 2002, Renu worked with the City of Regina, Government of India, through the Consulate General of India, and initiated a project to bring a statue of Mahatma Gandhi to Regina. Today, the statue of Ghandhi stands in front of Regina's City Hall, blessing the City with a daily message of peace and love.
