Gale Courses

Get free access to interactive, instructor-led online courses with your RPL card.

Gale Courses run for six weeks, with new courses starting on the third Wednesday of the month. After you pass the final exam, you’ll receive a certificate of completion in your email. Take as many courses as you’d like, anytime, anywhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

  1. Visit Gale Courses on the web and enter your library card number and PIN.

  2. Browse course categories on the left of your screen, or use the search bar. Click “Enroll Now” next to the course of your choice

  3. Select your course start date and click “Continue”

  4. Create a free Gale Courses account, or sign in to an existing ed2go account

    New Students

    • Enter your email address in the New Student area and click “Create Account”
    • Complete the “Account and Student Information” page and click “Continue”

    Returning Students: Enter your email and password and click “Sign in”

  5. When asked for payment, enter your RPL card number and click “Use Library Card” to complete your enrollment

  6. You only need to create an account the first time you enroll. After that, you can sign in as a returning student

How long are the courses?

Unless otherwise specified, all courses run for 6 weeks. Each course is divided into two classes: Week 1 and Week 2.

Can I drop a course?

If you don’t visit the Week 2 class of your courses within 13 days, you will be automatically dropped. If you need to be dropped earlier, staff can assist you.

I was dropped from a course when I didn’t want to be! Why?

You must remain active in your courses in order to stay enrolled. Students who do not access the Week 1 and Week 2 classes of a course within 13 days of the start date will be automatically dropped from their courses.

If I’m dropped, can I take the course another time?

Yes. If you are dropped from a course, you can enroll in other sessions at a later date.

How does the interactive portion of the class work?

Each course, and related class, has a dedicated discussion area. If you need help, post your question in the appropriate discussion area, and the instructor, teaching assistant or one of your fellow students will respond.

Is there a limit to how many times I can take a course?

No. You can take a course as many times as you need to complete it.

Is there a limit to how many courses I can take in a month / year?

No. You can take as many courses as you like.
