What is a DVD/CD Dispenser?

It is a machine that dispenses DVDs and CDs. It is similar to a vending machine.

Where is the DVD/CD Dispenser located?

You will find the dispenser inside the doorway of the Prince of Wales Branch and Core Ritchie Community Centre, which is located at 445 14^th Ave. Regina, Saskatchewan.

How much does it cost to checkout a movie or CD?

Borrowing items from the dispenser is FREE. However, you will need a valid library card and a 4-digit numeric PIN.

How do I search for a movie or CD that I want to checkout?

There are two ways of finding titles you can checkout from the dispenser:

1. You can go online and access the DVD/CD Dispenser Catalogue From this page, you will be able to browse the titles available from the machine, as well as place a reservation. You will have 5 hours to retrieve your DVD/CD before your hold expires. You will need the library card used to place the hold in order to retrieve the disc.

2. The second way to search for a movie or CD is in person, using the machines’ screen to browse for available disc titles.

When can I access the DVD/CD Dispenser?

The dispenser is available the following hours:

Monday 8 am -10 pm

Tues 8 am – 6 pm

Wed 8 am -10 pm

Thurs 8 am -10 pm

Fri 8am – 10 pm

Sat 9 am – 5pm; 6 pm -10 pm

Sun 1:30pm – 5 pm

The DVD/CD Dispenser Catalogue is available online and can be accessed at any time.

How many movies and CDs can I checkout?

You may borrow up to 5 items from the dispenser.

How long can I borrow the items I checkout from the dispenser?

The loan period for DVDs is 7 days and the loan period for CDs is 21 days.

Will I be charged overdue fines for not returning my items on time?

Yes. Fines for DVDs are $1/ per day and CDs are $0.30 / per day.

Where do I return the DVDs/ CDs?

Items MUST be returned to the dispenser. You do not need a library card in order to do a return.

Can I renew items I borrowed from the dispenser?

You can renew items online by logging into your Library Account. You may renew an item up to 2 times. Items cannot be renewed at the dispenser.

What do I do if the disc is damaged?

Please return it to the Prince of Wales Branch during regular library hours and notify staff of damage.

What should I do if the machine is out of service and I need to return a disc?

Please return the item directly to the staff at the Prince of Wales Branch during regular library hours.
