Central Library, the largest of the nine Branches in the Regina Public Library system, is a social and informational hub in the heart of downtown Regina. The Library maintains an extensive calendar of programs, training opportunities, art exhibits in the Dunlop Art Gallery, along with film screenings in the Library's very own repertory film theatre!

Visitors to Central Library can expect to find:
  • A vast and growing collection of more than 100,000 books
  • A foreign language collection that includes materials in French, Cree, Chinese, German, Russian, Spanish and Dutch
  • Children's games, picture books, and toys
  • Hundreds of popular magazines
  • More than 3,600 DVDs
  • Over 6,000 music CDs
  • Thousands of research materials, business resources, and reference publications
  • A partial depository collection of government documents
  • A book drop for items to be returned when the Library is closed
Computer Workstations
Central Library has 30 computer workstations available for public use. Selected computers provide free access to the Web, along with Word, Excel and Powerpoint software.

Special Services
The Library offers a host of special services to the public that include:
  • A Children's Room that is a treasure trove of books, music, toys and so much more! There is something for every child, and every parent
  • A literacy program that provides volunteer tutors to work one-on-one with adults requiring assistance learning to read, write, and do basic math
  • The Prairie History Room, which offers a wealth of historical information on the peoples of the Northern Great Plains
  • Outreach Services, a special unit whose staff assists in the selection and delivery of library materials to individuals who have vision loss and/or cannot visit the Library
  • An Interlibrary Loan service that will locate and request items from other sources if they cannot be found at Regina Public Library
  • A meeting room that is available for organizations and community groups to rent
  • The popular "Book Club in a Bag" service that provides specially prepared kits for local book clubs
