The Prairie History Room is a specialized collection of non-circulating community history and genealogical materials focusing on the history and peoples of the Northern Great Plains (Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan) from pre-settlement times to present day. The room is located at the Central branch of the Regina Public Library.

Our Mandate and Services
Open seven days a week, the Room's mandate is "to assist all individuals in their quest for knowledge about Prairie history and family history." For the convenience of our researchers, we provide:
  • microfilm readers connected to printers
  • coin-operated photocopier
  • Internet-accessible computers connected to a laser printer
  • Free electronic access to Ancestry Library Edition (similar to Ancestry.Com) and HeritageQuest databases, enabling users to search for records by typing in a name

The Prairie History Room is located in Central Library, which is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Regina, on 12th Avenue between Lorne and Smith Street.
