Last December, the Prairie History Room hosted the "This Scan's For You" party where we invited members of the public to bring in their historic photographs for us to scan in and upload into a digital scrapbook. The public was asked to sign a permission slip allowing us to use their images for future marketing initiatives and received a DVD of their scanned images as a memento to take home with them.

After successfully scanning in over 200 photographs from our scanning party, we are proud to announce the official launch of the Library's Flickr page.

What is Flickr?

Flickr is a photo sharing Web site that allows users to share their photos with friends and family members. Within our photo album, you will find images of historic events such as the Regina Tornado, family portraits, various library branches and service departments, and Library staff members. Since this is ongoing project, we invite you to check back with us on a regular basis either by bookmarking our Flickr page or by subscribing to its RSS feed.

So sit back and enjoy the images. If you are inclined, feel free to leave comments on the photos.

For more information about this project or if you would like to contribute your own photos to our Flickr account, please contact May P. Chan at the Prairie History Room.
