Online Library Services Are Now Better Than Ever

Demand for e-content is growing every day as people look for ways to access information and reading materials online. Below we have compiled a list of e-content that has temporarily expanded to meet increased user demands.  

No card? No problem! — with these new products that are temporarily available for access:

TumbleMath features math-based picture books targeted at grades K-6.

ScienceFlix offers more than 50 complete units of science study with over 8,000 science-related projects, videos, texts and more. Username:  Learning20  Password:  Clifford

TrueFlix supports social studies and science learning through ebooks that are enhanced with related content such as fiction, videos, audio clips, images and related websites.

RomanceBookCloud gives you access to unlimited romance novels, and the titles are always available.

Internet Archive is a non-profit digital library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites, and more. No library card required. The Internet Archive has suspended all waitlists for its digital text collection by creating a National Emergency Library. Instant checkouts with no holds will continue at least through June 30, 2020. 

Curio.ca from CBC lets you access thousands of programs, documentaries, and audio content categorized by subject, show and age level, plus access thematic collections and activity guides.  Note: due to rights limitations, specialty channels such as BBC and National Geographic are not freely available.

Kanopy offers the best in popular movies, classic films, world cinema, and documentaries for free with your Library card. Click here for a list of titles you can watch that will not use any of your 10 monthly play credits. 

Hoopla offers an exciting instant access collection with no holds or waiting for ebooks, eaudiobooks, movies, music and graphic novels. From now until at least May 31, hoopla has created a Bonus Borrows collection that will not use any of your monthly credits. Find this credit free collection by clicking here or by searching “Bonus Borrows” in Hoopla.  And as an added bonus, your monthly credit has been temporarily increased to 10.

Ancestry Library Edition is one of the leading resources for genealogy enthusiasts that is normally accessed from within the library. Now until at least April 30th you can access this database from home using your library card number and PIN. This is an exciting opportunity to dig in to those census, immigration and church records, and uncover the missing pieces of your family’s story. Who will you find?
