Access to the 1921 Canadian Census


For those of you who have been following the status updates regarding the 1921 Federal Canadian Census on various blogs and sites, the rumours are true--the entire census has been fully digitized and is freely available online, courtesy of At present, there is no nominal index (e.g. name searching) but there is a geographic search.

For those who do not have computer access at home, rest assured. The 1921 Canadian Census is also available through Regina Public Library's subscription of Ancestry Library Edition, which can be accessed on any computer at any of 9 library branches. At present, the link to this data is hidden. To find it, click on the "Recent" databases added link listed underneath the search fields on the home page (see example below)
