How to explain performance art to my teenage daughter

Curated by Blair Fornwald
Exhibition runs from January 15 to April 4, 2019 at Central Mediatheque

Additional Information

Rachel Echenberg

Referencing Joseph Beuys’ 1965 performance, How to explain pictures to a dead hare, where the artist, face covered in gold leaf and honey, toured his exhibition with a dead hare cradled in his arms, Montreal-based artist Rachel Echenberg and her daughter Clara Echenberg-Worsnip cover each other’s faces and heads with honey and gold leaf. This tender, absurd act places both mother and daughter in the role of the artist-teacher.
