Jeffrey D. Barber is the Library Director and CEO at Regina Public Library. He joined RPL in 2003. Jeff has Bachelor of Arts Degrees in French Language and Literature and Philosophy, as well as a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Library and Information Studies. Before his career in libraries, he worked in the private and non-profit sectors. Jeff’s early library career included positions at the University of Saskatchewan Library and the Southeast Regional Library.

Jeff is active in the Saskatchewan Library Association, Canadian Urban Libraries Council, and the Metropolitan Libraries Section of the International Federation of Library Associations & Institutions. He is currently Chair of the Saskatchewan Information & Library Services (SILS) Consortium as well as Chair of the Mâmawêyatitân Centre Owners Group. He has served as a mentor at the Northern Exposure to Leadership Institute and is the 2017 recipient of the Ken Haycock Award for Promoting Librarianship. He is also a long-standing member and director of the Rotary Club of Regina Eastview.

Jeff was born and raised in Saskatchewan. He and his wife Nancy live in south Regina.
