Non-Profit Ready

Non-Profit Ready offers courses ranging from establishing your non-profit organization to marketing and board governance to assist not-for-profit organizations in all their life stages. Some of the accounting courses being offered include Non-profit Accounting, Financial Information for Your Board, Tracking Operating Cost etc.

Udemy is a for profit online academy, which offers over 183,000 courses on a variety of topics form personal growth, to tech and business skills. Some of the accounting courses include Accounting from Beginner to Advanced, Xero Accounting Online, Cost Accounting etc.

Charity Village is a non-profit resource, learning and job board for over 170,000 Canadian non-profit organizations. Their resources, classes and webinars cover the range of needs for the lifecycle of a non-profit organization from budgeting to board governing, corporate sponsorship, and volunteer engagement etc. Here is a resource you may find helpful: Five steps to maximize your strategic partnerships.

SaskCulture is a great starting place for any non-profit looking to enhance their skills or even access to funding opportunities. They offer resources and courses on a variety of topics such as advocacy, board governance, diversity, partnership, and communication to name a few.

Udemy is a for profit online academy, which offers over 183,000 courses on a variety of topics form personal growth, to tech and business skills. Some of the accounting courses include Strategic Relationship Building, Being Strategic: Thinking and Acting with Impact, Conscious Business: Building Empowered Relationships etc.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION  

Achieve Center for Leadership    

ACHIEVE Centre for Leadership offers low cost and free resources, webinars, and counseling which can be arranged as either a recurring member or as single purchases. One of the courses they offer relevant to this topic is Diversity and Culture – Strategies for Working with Differences 

Cost: Free, under $10, and membership plans for personal and organizations. Membership Plans are personal 12.99 a month, organizations minimum 10 people 11.99 a month/person or 145.99 yearly/person.  

Canadian Diversity Initiative    

The Canadian Diversity Initiative supports diversity and inclusion training for enterprises, businesses, non-profits and individuals. Some of the courses available in this topic area include Unconscious Bias, Diversity and Inclusion Training for Volunteers, and LGBTQ2+ Diversity and Inclusion Training for Workplaces etc. 

Cost: Free Resources are available, and course packs range from $20 - $40

Volunteer Canada has an active applied research program that directly contributes to improved practice and policy to strengthen volunteering and citizen engagement. Volunteer Canada hosts links to free resources and research to assist with the development and actions of non-profit organizations. University of Regina Centre for Continuing Education – Professional Development  

The University of Regina Center for Continuing Education hosts microcredentials and full certificate course programs as well as free webinars and other individual courses. One example course they offer in this topic area is Business Communications.  

Cost: Free Resources Available, Paid Certificates and Microcredentials are $645 per course. Microcredentials are 3 courses and Certificates are 7 courses in length.
