Adobe

Adobe is the industry standard in video editing, photo editing, image creation and manipulation including other resources for website design, audio mixing and recording. Adobe is also the standard in document creation, editing and signatures with Acrobat. Acrobat is included in their Creative Cloud bundle. Easily become an individual member or contact Adobe for enterprise-based plan pricing.  

Cost: Introductions and beginner tutorials are free, software in creative cloud has a recurring monthly cost 69.99/month for entire Creative Cloud, single software is 27.99/month, with student plan 25.99/month. To access tutorials, go to the selected program under learn and support and select tutorials. 

CodeAcademy      

Codecademy is an online interactive platform that offers free coding classes in 12 different programming languages including Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, Ruby, SQL, C++, C#, Swift, and Sass, as well as markup languages HTML and CSS.  

Cost: Individual Free or 19.99/month and team/organizational $240 per individual/year 

CopyBlogger    

CopyBlogger is focused on what it takes for individuals and others to succeed in driving internet traffic to their websites through content marketing. CopyBlogger provides detailed guidance on key areas such as landing page, blogging, and conversion rate optimization etc. 

Cost: Free Articles and Free Resources are available, membership to the CopyBlogger Academy is available at $495/year per individual. 

Coursera

Courses, certificates and degrees created with leading universities and businesses, to develop your accounting and other business skill sets such as marketing and tech. Some of the trendy technology courses or projects include Business Transformation with Google Cloud, Explore Core Data Concepts in Microsoft Azure, Create a fundraising page on Chuffed etc.   

Cost: Some free courses for University of Regina Students. $400/year per user for business users.  

edX    

edX offers free webinars on a variety of topics, and sometimes has free courses. There are also paid courses through partnered institutions. The courses through edX are certified and at completion provide the learner with a certificate. Some of the courses in this topic area include CS50's Understanding Technology, Cyber Security Basics: A Hands-on Approach and Video for Content Creators. 

Cost: Free or $350/learner/year 

FreeCodeCamp      

FreeCodeCamp holds over 8,000 tutorials on programming and tech topics such as web design, data analysis, data visualization, and Javascript Algorithms. The courses from FreeCodeCamp come with certificates and can open up new pathways and careers or help you gain valuable new skills in your current career. Some courses offered through FreeCodeCamp include Responsive Web Design, Data Visualization, Information Security, and Data Analysis with Python.  

Cost: Free 

Gale Courses  

A wide range of highly interactive, instructor led online courses. Courses run for six weeks, and new sessions begin every month. Some Gale Courses in this topic area include accounting software such as QuickBooks, Adobe Creative Suite such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom, and Microsoft Suite such as Excel (beginner, intermediate, and advanced), Access, and Project etc. 

Cost: Free with your library card

Google Workspace     

Google Workspace training offers free support and tutorials for the Google workspace suite of programs. The tutorials offered are collected both by program and by “industry”, such as “non-profit organizations” or by “role” such as “human resources.” The training is focused on the google suite, examples include google docs, google sheets, google classroom, google photos, etc.  

Cost: Free 

LinkedIn Learning                     

Get 24/7 access to online learning tutorials taught by recognized industry professionals across business, creative and technology sectors. Over 16,000 expert-led courses with new content added regularly. A few courses available in this topic area include Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint etc. 

Cost: Free with your library card

TechSoup

TechSoup’s Course content is designed specifically for staff at nonprofit organizations. Techsoup works with subject-matter experts who also have deep experience with nonprofits. Courses that cover this topic include Social Media Marketing For Nonprofits, Power BI for Nonprofits, Microsoft 365 Bootcamp for Nonprofits, Excel for Nonprofits - Data Management and Reporting, and Fundraising for Nonprofits.  

Cost: Courses range in price but are often below $100. 

Udemy

Udemy is a for profit online academy, which offers over 183,000 courses on a variety of topics form personal growth, to tech and business skills. Some of the accounting courses include Digital Fundraising Blueprint, Databases: The Heart of Fundraising, Introduction to Computer Networks for Non-Techies etc. 

Cost: $360/year/user 

LEVERAGING SOCIAL MEDIA  

Coursera

Courses, certificates and degrees created with leading universities and businesses, to develop your accounting and other business skill sets such as marketing and tech. Some of the courses or guided projects in this topic area include Introduction to Social Media Marketing, How to Set Up a Facebook Ads Campaign, Fundamentals of Social Media Advertising etc.   

Cost: Some free courses for University of Regina Students. $400/year per user for business users.

Non-Profit Ready offers courses ranging from establishing your non-profit organization to marketing and board governance to assist not-for-profit organizations in all their life stages. etc. A few courses available in this topic area include Content Marketing for Nonprofits, 10 Strategies for Success with Digital Fundraising, and Storytelling and the Art of Email Writing etc.
