Discover a vibrant celebration of literature at the RPL Writers Festival! This event features engaging discussion panels with local and international writers. Teens welcome.

This event will be held on the 2nd Floor mezzanine of Central Library. Drop-in, no registration required.

1:45 pm               Panel Discussion 1: Libraries: A Literary Touchstone

                           Libraries: community, university, political, and personal libraries, function as a central, and often gothic setting in a range of literary works. They are also influential places, in real life, in writers’                                 careers. Join these writers as they discuss why libraries have been important to them.
                           Panelists: Stephen Mooney, Rachel Marsh, Paul Vlitos, Jeanette Lynes.

2:45 pm               Panel Discussion 2 The First Manuscript: Risks, Attractions, Rewards

                           What draws you to the topic of your first manuscript? Why did you write it? What did you love and hate about your first manuscript? Join these poets and fiction writers as they discuss writing                                   their first manuscript.

                           Panelists: Tim Blackett, Trish Elliot, Ryan Coulter.

                           The mic will be open for any poets, storytellers, fiction writers, musicians, or other creatives, who would like to share their work. A sign-up sheet will be posted at the beginning of the event.
