Gale Courses offers a wide range of highly interactive, instructor led online courses that you can take for free with your Library card. Courses run for six weeks and new sessions begin every month. Courses cover a broad range of subjects including: Business, Computers, Health, Education, and Personal Enrichment (Photography, Screenwriting, Drawing, etc).
If you are a returning student, sign in using your account e-mail or username and password
Browse the course catalog menu or use the search bar
To sign up for a course, click the “Enroll Now” button
Select your course start date and click “Continue Enrollment”
New students will need to click on 'New Account" to create your account and complete your course enrollment.
Note: For new students, you will only need to create an account the first time you enroll for a course.
How long do courses run?
All courses run for 6 weeks unless otherwise stated. Each course is divided into two classes: Week 1 and Week 2.
Can I drop a course?
If you don’t visit the Week 2 class of your courses within 13 days, you will be automatically dropped. If you need to be dropped earlier, staff can assist you.
I was dropped from a course when I didn’t want to be! Why?
You must remain active in your courses in order to stay enrolled. Students who do not access the Week 1 and Week 2 classes of a course within 13 days of the start date will be automatically dropped from their courses.
If I’m dropped, can I take the course another time?
Yes. If you are dropped from a course, you can enroll in other sessions at a later date.
How does the interactive portion of the class work?
Each course, and related class, has a dedicated discussion area. If you need help, post your question in the appropriate discussion area, and the instructor, teaching assistant or one of your fellow students will respond.
Is there a limit to how many times I can take a course?
No. You can take a course as many times as you need to complete it.
Is there a limit to how many courses I can take?
No. You can take as many courses as you like.
