From a great opening paragraph to the final word, a story must tie together to keep the reader believing in the characters and engaged in the plot. Join Anne Lazurko in this interactive workshop to discover how to find and craft the through line of your story. We will explore how to ensure that every element contributes to the work and its meaning. Come prepared to write and share and discuss as we discover the heart of your story.

Presenter information:

Anne Lazurko’s novel, What Is Written on the Tongue, received the 2023 Fiction Award at the Saskatchewan Book Awards and was shortlisted for both the Saskatchewan Book of the Year and the Glengarry Book Award. Her novel Dollybird won the Willa Award for historical fiction. Her current project, One Woman, is a hybrid of contemporary and historical fiction set in Italy. Anne has short fiction and poetry published in literary magazines and anthologies and is an active editor, teacher and mentor in the prairie writing community. She writes from her farm near Weyburn, SK.
