Travel through taste to India, by following Jay Parikh, cultural sharing enthusiast, through a cooking demo to learn how to cook a traditional Indian meal.

Additional Information

Want to cook along with Jay?  Please have the following ingredients ready:

  • Cooking oil
  • 1 medium onion (blended to paste)
  • 1 tbsp ginger/ 1 tbsp garlic
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans chickpeas (rinsed/drained)
  • basmati rice (soaked 30 mins)
  • 1.5 cup Plain sour yogurt whisked
  • 1 cucumber diced
  • 1 medium red onion diced
  • 2 tomatoes (deseeded and diced)
  • 1 green chilli (deseeded and diced)
  • 2 limes (juiced)
  • Spices: Whole cumin, whole cumin roasted, ground cumin, coriander powder, turmeric, Indian red chilli powder (cayenne pepper as alternative), garam masala blend, salt, lemon, coriander leaves, and coriander
