Marina Endicott’s novels have been published in six countries and several languages. Her first book, Open Arms, was short-listed for the Amazon First Novel award. Her next, Good to a Fault was a finalist for the Scotiabank Giller Prize and CBC Radio’s Canada Reads, and won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best Book, Canada/Caribbean. The Little Shadows was short-listed for the Governor General’s award and long-listed for the Giller Prize, as was Close to Hugh. Her latest, The Difference, (The Voyage of the Morning Light in the US) won the Robert Kroetsch City of Edmonton Book Prize and the Dartmouth Fiction Prize. An accomplished dramaturge and director, Endicott wrote the screenplay for the award-winning NFB film Vanishing Point as well as several plays; her long poem “The Policeman’s Wife, some letters” was shortlisted for the CBC Poetry award. She teaches creative writing at the University of Alberta, U of T, Humber and the Banff Centre for the Arts. Learn more at her website.
