Additional Information

Registration for this program will open at 12:00 pm on Friday, June 16.

Presenter Roxanne Sims is currently a SUNTEP student working towards an education degree. Through the SUNTEP program, she has been able to delve into and reclaim a lot of her Métis culture and heritage. Roxanne enjoys jigging and beading as well as learning the traditional Métis language called Michif.

Presenter Taylor Giroux is a SUNTEP student who will be entering her 4th and final year of her Education degree this fall. Over the past three years with SUNTEP, Taylor is happy to share that she has learned and grown so much, not only in the Education field but also with her understanding and knowledge of her culture and history of Canada. Taylor would like to share with the youth the importance of understanding who you are and where you come from. We need to know who we are, who our ancestors are in order to be proud of who we are. Taylor is also a strong advocate of education and believes the opportunities are limitless with a good education.
