CORPUS: Les moutons and A Flock of Flyers
Additional Information
Award winning international dance/theatre company CORPUS will be in Victoria Park to perform two remarkable pieces, Les moutons and A Flock of Flyers.
How carefully have you studied sheep behavior? Les moutons has been described as "Reality Reality meets fantasy," a surreal and comically droll performance that brings four sheep, Julie, Marie-Louise, Bernadette, and César to the middle of the busy downtown park, where they are fed, milked and sheared. With pitch perfect wit and a precision of movement that could only come from careful observation and an impressive talent for impersonation, CORPUS surprises and delights.
In A Flock of Flyers, we witness a flying squadron, who, due to severe budget cutbacks, have been left without any planes. Unruffled, they persevere! Combining political satire with extraordinary physicality, and intricate choreography, the flock continues their training regime and performing their airfield maneuvers without leaving the ground.
Founded in 1997 by Sylvie Bouchard and Artistic Director David Danzon, Toronto based company CORPUS is known for its precise and surrealist humour that combines movement with theatrical imagery.
