Garden Folk

2008

Garden Folk documents the exhibit at Sherwood Village Branch Gallery from July 19 to September 28, 2008, that celebrated and acknowledged the Regina love affair with gardening, and how art and gardening can be used to nourish body, mind and spirit. Artists in the exhibition included Victor Cicansky, Gerri Ann Siwek and Donna Kriekle. A special feature of the exhibition was the participation of Bonnie Chapman and 46 studio artists from the Artist-in-Residence Program Creativity for Health at the Pasqua Hospital. This collaborative health and social service project is designed to bring awareness to the public about how gardening and the visual arts empower healing and social change and how it can contribute to the psychological and spiritual well being of community.
