Visitors from the four directions [Indigenous peoples in a globalized world]
2005
Kit
This kit was developed for the high school Saskatchewan curriculum to address the topics of globalization and development, human rights, and Indigenous peoples. "This project took place primarily during the 2003/2004 university academic year, housed in the Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program (SUNTEP, of the Gabriel Dumont Institute) in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Thirteen visitors came to this province to visit and to share their stories in a number of communities and schools. These stories, in turn, were used as key resources to create curriculum materials about issues faced by Indigenous peoples internationally, with the goal of helping to create ongoing connections."--Insert.
