When his wife Anne leaves him for a successful writer, Marc Marronnier, a high-profile literary critic, is rocked by her accusations that he is immature and fickle. In despair or maybe defiance, Marc starts writing a cynical pamphlet denouncing love. At the same time, his life is turned on its head by his encounter with Alice, an irresistible and inaccessible young woman, who forces Marc to reconsider everything he believes in.
