Ten years ago, during a bloody African coup, a stray bullet from Black Ops commando Deke Bronson left up-and-coming journalist Lexie Murroughs paralyzed. Deke is grateful that she has no recollection of his part in the incident that left her physically injured, and Deke emotionally scarred. He's left the military and joined Dundee Private Security and Investigation in an effort to put the past behind him, but he's never been able to forgive himself.
