Jewish-American heritage
2006
DVD
The history of Jewish Americans, their journey to America and the traditions they observe come to life in this program. Children learn the geography of Israel, how to say a few words in Hebrew and how to make a Sukkah, the decorated hut built as part of the Jewish harvest festival of Sukkot. They also take a trip to a kosher supermarket, visit a Jewish shop that sells books in Hebrew, menorahs and other special items, enjoy an animated folktale called The Woodcutter's Wish and sing "Yehi Shalom," a Jewish song about peace.
