Ever since her dad dies and her mom took over their family's long-distance trucking business, Kat has felt alone. Her recnt diabetes diagnosis hasn't helped either. On impulse, Kat stows away in the back of her mom's semi just as she's about to start a dangerous journey across a frozen lake known as "the winter road."
