Art loving DI Mick Palmer single-handedly runs the Heritage Crime Unit, investigating murders and theft in the shadowy world of art, antiquities and pricelss artifacts. When straight-talking young DC Shazia Malik helps him solve the brutal killing of an art historian, he offers her a job. Together, the new partners investigate a Viking hoard smuggled from a prehistoric grave, dark family secrets at a Cornish recording studio, a sabotaged wine tasting and the death of a millionaire obsessed wtih the sinking of the Titanic. While Shazia adapts to life away from her overprotective family, Mick navigates a budding romance with museum curator Rosa and the shocking reappearance of his long-gone father, a notorious art forger.
