However, the king of Jiayi hunted everywhere for the white deer's skin. To protect the deer herd, Shanzi fell off the cliff and dropped into the lake. The king was so regretful that he jumped into the lake and rescued Shanzi. Shanzi then asked the king to put aside his greed and give peace back to the white deer community and the forest.
