Nothing ever happens in Eudora and that's the way this small town, surrounded by oil, wheat and cattle, likes it. Eudorans are allergic to innovation. But when a former resident publishes a novel with characters based on a number of townspeople, it prompts a sudden interest in contemporary literature. All of a sudden, there are a whole lot of new ideas in town -- not all of them good. As longstanding allegiances are challenged, rivalries grow, romance blooms, and the war in Iraq reaches the small town, Eudora will never be the same. In a small town where secrets don't exist, thanks to nosy neighbors and greased-lightning gossip, the truth may be found in the corner booth of the diner on Main Street.
