Eleven-year-old Tania, whose parents are the producers of a ghost-hunter reality television show, has the ability to communicate with ghosts. While filming aboard an antique riverboat on the Mississippi River she and her older brother Jon discover the spirit of a riverboat captain who accidentally caused the boat to catch fire, and he's making trouble for everyone.
