Ben McBain is the best player on his football team. He can play nearly any position and when the time comes for the big play to win it, he always pulls through. But there's one position on the team Ben isn't allowed to play, quarterback, because that spot goes to Shawn O'Brien, the coach's son. As the team starts to struggle, Ben must decide if he should try to help Shawn become a better player, or make a play for the position at the cost of a friendship.
