Phyllis Newsom and friends Carolyn and Sam whip up their best dishes to win some ribbons at the Texas State Fair. And one of their favorite celebrity chefs, Joye Jameson, is broadcasting her TV show from the fair. Joye invites Phyllis and the other finalists for best funnel cake to prepare their recipes live on the air. But when Joye suffers a deadly allergic reaction from one bite of her funnel cake, Phyllis goes from top entry to top suspect.
