Recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at the Library
Honour National Day for Truth and Reconciliation all month long at the library.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a time to remember the effects of residential schools for Indigenous peoples. It's a time to recommit ourselves to the work of reconciliation by remembering and learning from the past while looking toward the future. These programs have been specially curated to help everyone learn more about the impact of residential schools and the process of reconciliation.
Nelson Bird joins us for a special event on September 30, where he'll be talking about his experiences in the media, and how he's contributing to meaningful and lasting reconciliation. To honour and remember those who were impacted by residential schools, the event will include an opening blessing, honour song, and a healing jingle dance.
The following events and programs are presented as part of Culture Days thanks to funding from SaskCulture through the support of SaskLotteries. Find more Culture Days programs across the province on the Culture Days website.
