This event will happen in-person at Sherwood Village Branch (6121 Rochdale Blvd).
Join activist and artist Cat Haines to learn about the history of activist art builds and pride art before diving into making your own queer, trans, or allied sign, patch, or wearable for this year’s Pride Parade.
Materials provided, please feel free to bring along additional materials for a more personalized creation (example: t-shirt, hat, etc). Recommended Materials: Fabric, safety pins, paintbrush, paints, fabric paint medium (optional), sharpie (thick), bristol board, letter stencils, and scissors.
Cat Haines is an activist and artist who resists on Treaty Four Territory, in Regina. She has organized queer and trans art interventions outside the Globe Theatre and in Wascana Park focused on queer and trans inclusion in the arts. Her work focuses heavily on community and intercommunity solidarity as a means of trans-forming the world. Cat is currently enjoying painting her friends and community.
