Tai Reign (@taithepoet) is a Two-Spirited poet and performer from Peepeekisis Cree Nation raised in Regina, Sk. They first discovered poetry as a therapeutic outlet, since they’ve realized how powerful words can be. Now they use poetry and art to share their world view and make sense of the hardships they’ve experienced. On their artistic journey they've ventured into theater co-founding The Salt and Battery Collective, where they have created and performed two devised theater productions, Lift/Break and The Rehearsal. Currently they are the co-host of RezX on AccessNow.
Kate Spencer hails from small town Saskatchewan. She received a Bachelor of Arts Honours in 2017 and a Masters of Arts in 2021 from the University of Regina. Throughout her studies, she split her focus between poetry, specifically Confessional, and Modernist literature, completing her graduate thesis on James Joyce. Lately, she runs a small business with her spouse and picks up after two new puppies, Georgia and Eddie. She will be reading from her first book, Cradle and Spoon.
dee Hobsbawn-Smith (she/her) lives rurally on Treaty Six Territory west of Saskatoon. She writes award-winning poetry, novels, short stories, and essays which are sometimes influenced by her background as a chef and local foods advocate. She lives and works west of Saskatoon, SK, Canada, in Treaty Six Territory, where she served as the Saskatoon Public Library’s 35th Writer in Residence, and earned her MFA in Writing and MA in English. Her work has appeared in numerous literary magazines and anthologies. She has written ten books; her most recent books include Bread & Water: essays, published in 2021 by University of Regina Press. It won the SK Book Award for Best Nonfiction, and Taste Canada’s Gold Medal for Culinary Narrative; Danceland Diary: a novel, a finalist for SK Book Awards’ Best Fiction; and Among the Untamed: poems. A new poetry collection is currently looking for a home. In her spare time she cooks, gardens, quilts, grows orchids, and runs. She’s a fan of good chocolate, better coffee, good wine, and period movies, and detective novels. She hopes to learn to play her guitar before she turns 80.
Dale Mac, Roots/Rock/Blues songwriter, is from White Bear First Nation in Saskatchewan. The storytelling in his lyrics and driving music are both backed by his soulful and energetic guitars. Whether performing acoustic roots in intimate venues, amp driven blues, or rock based stage shows, Dale’s guitar writing is also the energy behind his range of songwriting. He has two releases under his belt. His first release under the alias "Kinder Scout" (2015) was followed up by the successful EP "American Horse" (2017) under his name Dale Mac. His upcoming release "Pejuta Road" blends his threatened Nakota language, hand drumming, with contemporary guitar driven storytelling.
