James L. Turk is Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Toronto Metropolitan University and Director of the University’s Centre for Free Expression. Previously, he served as Executive Director of the Canadian Association of University Teachers, and was Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Toronto. Jim has written extensively on expressive freedom and has won numerous awards for his work. His most recent book was an edited collection, Academic Freedom in Conflict: the Struggle over Speech Rights in the University (2014).
