This is an in-person program. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell. Masks are required.
Dates: Program runs Thursdays, January 13, 20, and 27 and February 3 from 7:00 PM- 8:00 PM. Please plan to attend all sessions. (please note session is now starting one week late and continuing one week later due to presenter availability)
Materials provided. The program is in person. One kit per registered customer.
Mohamadsadegh Khosravani is a Ph.D. student at the University of Regina. Mohamad was born in Iran and started calligraphy at the age of 10. First, he learned Nasta'liq and continued with Naskh.In this program, Mohamadsadegh will teach one type of Islamic calligraphy (Nasta'liq). The program includes how to write the alphabet and short sentences. It can be considered as an introduction to Islamic calligraphy. Afterwhile, learners will be able to pursue in Nasta'liq or learn other types of calligraphy to create gorgeous works of art. Islamic calligraphy is the artistic practice of handwriting and calligraphy, based upon the alphabet in the lands sharing a common Islamic cultural heritage. It includes Arabic Calligraphy, Ottoman, and Persian calligraphy.
