As the growing season comes to a close and the weather turns cooler, it's time to prepare for the long winter ahead. Traditionally, this is the season for preserving the harvest through canning and freezing. However, there are other ways of celebrating foods with delicious creations straight from the garden. Expert baker, Jodi Robson will guide you through the process of making beautiful bannock. Inspired by the artfully decorated focaccia trend, Jodi will put a personal touch on her near and dear baked bannock recipe. Together, you will transform these delectable loaves into edible masterpieces adorned with an array of fresh veggies and fragrant herbs.
Jodi will provide all the necessary ingredients for the bannock dough and toppings. However, we encourage you to bring along any garden goodies you have grown, so you can incorporate them into your creations and celebrate the unique flavors that come straight from your gardens. Whether you're a seasoned chef or a culinary enthusiast, this program offers an opportunity to learn about Indigenous culture, discover new flavors, and get creative with your culinary skills. Join in for a delightful journey into the world of bannock, where traditional recipes meet modern artistry.
This program respects and appreciates the cultural significance of Indigenous cuisine and aims to promote cross-cultural understanding and culinary appreciation.
