3D Printer Terms and Conditions
Introduction
This document explains the terms and conditions governing the use of Regina Public Library's 3D Printing Services. By using this service, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions set forth in this document.
Regina Public Library (RPL) reserves the right to revise this document at any time. Notice of revisions will be announced on this page. Continued use of Library printing services by you will constitute your acceptance of any changes or revisions to these terms and conditions.
Terms and Conditions of 3D Printing at Regina Public Library
Requirements
- To use RPL 3D Printing Services, you must have a library card in good standing with a Saskatchewan Public Library.
- You must also register for an account on the RPL 3D Printing website. This will require a valid email address.
- You must be 14 years of age or older to create a 3D printing account. Younger children must submit jobs through their parent or guardian.
Fees and payments
- The rate for 3D printing is 10 cents per gram, rounded to the nearest gram.
- The total grams include the object's weight, its raft, and any necessary supports.
- You will pay in full after the completion of your print job.
- Rates are subject to review and may change with prior notice.
Restrictions
- RPL Staff will review all submitted jobs to provide a cost estimate and confirm print functionality and compliance with RPL 3D Printing Terms and Conditions.
- RPL doesn't guarantee that every .stl file can be printed successfully.
- RPL's 3D printers may be used only for lawful purposes. The public will not be allowed to use the library's 3D printers to create material that is:
- Prohibited by municipal, provincial, or federal law.
- Unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others.
- Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the library environment.
- In violation of another's intellectual property rights. For example, the printer will not be used to reproduce material that is subject to copyright, patent, or trademark protection.
- RPL reserves the right to refuse any 3D print request.
- Only designated RPL staff and volunteers will have hands-on access to the 3D printers.
- Print jobs are limited to a maximum of eighteen (18) hours.
- RPL will not adjust or fix files that are not fit to print.
- STL files will be deleted from our server after 6 months.
- RPL's 3D printing service is designed to provide learning opportunities to the public, not a mass production service. Requests for large numbers of copies or jobs that use large amounts of filament are subject to cancellation or modification by RPL staff to ensure equitable access to our 3D printers.
- Customers cannot request that jobs be printed by a specific date. Repeated demands to print objects on a specific schedule or to take priority over other customers may result in your access to the service being suspended.
Pickup
- Printed pieces are presented as is, with no cleaning of the raft or support.
- Items printed from RPL 3D Printers must be picked up from the pickup locations selected by the customer at the time of print job submission. It can be one of the following:
- Central Library at 2311 12th Ave, Regina
- Sunrise Library at 3130 Woodhams Dr, Regina
- Items printed from RPL 3D printers that are not picked up within three (3) months will become the property of RPL.
- Repeated failure to pick up print jobs may result in your access to the service being suspended.
