Smart RRSP Strategies for Every Career Stage

Description

Whether you are a younger investor, mid-career investor, or late career investor, this workshop will walk you through the pros and cons of RRSPs and discuss whether they're right for you.

Additional Information

Whether you’re just starting your career, in your peak earning years, or preparing for retirement, your Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) can be one of the most powerful tools for building long-term wealth and reducing taxes—if you know how to use it strategically.

This engaging, practical session will guide you through proven RRSP strategies tailored to each phase of your working life. We’ll start with the fundamentals—how RRSPs work, how contributions reduce taxable income, and how to decide between RRSP and TFSA contributions. Then, we’ll explore age-specific tactics: building momentum in your 20s and 30s, maximizing your contribution room and investment returns in your 40s and 50s, and transitioning to tax-efficient withdrawals in retirement.

You’ll discover how to take advantage of government programs like the Home Buyers’ Plan and spousal RRSPs, how to avoid costly mistakes like over-contributing or cashing out too soon, and how to coordinate your RRSP with pensions, CPP, and OAS to create a smooth retirement income plan. We’ll also cover advanced tips, including catch-up strategies, income splitting, and minimizing tax on withdrawals to protect your benefits.

By the end of this presentation, you’ll walk away with:
• A clear understanding of how RRSPs fit into your overall financial plan
• Actionable steps for your current stage of life
• A roadmap of strategies to maximize growth, minimize taxes, and make your RRSP work harder for youNo matter where you are in your career, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to make smarter RRSP decisions—this year, next year, and right through to retirement.
