Explore the intersection of digital technology and creative expression in this engaging 2.5-hour workshop led by artist Casey Koyczan. Participants will learn how to capture real-world objects using mobile LiDAR and photogrammetry apps like Scaniverse or Polycam, then import and implement their scans into Blender 3D for digital manipulation and artistic creation.
No prior 3D experience is required—just bring your smartphone and a sense of curiosity. This is a great opportunity for artists, designers, and tech enthusiasts to experiment with accessible 3D scanning tools and discover new dimensions in their practice.
Bring your own smartphone or tablet with Scaniverse or Polycam installed. Laptops with Blender are encouraged but not required—some workstations will be available. Please email sfayant@reginalibrary.ca if you require a tablet and/or laptop by September 23rd, 2025.
