"Try the library once, and you are hooked!"

Regan is more than a library donor. He is a true ambassador. “I can’t remember a time I didn’t use the library,” he says. “My parents would take us as children. Later I came to borrow books and I was so surprised by all the classes and services.” Regan loves all that the library has to offer, and he isn’t shy about it, often inviting friends to programs and events such as Hot Topics. His reason for supporting the library with generous donations is simple: “I get so much out of it!”

He sees the library as “a great place to learn, with no strings attached.” It’s refreshing to chat with someone who is clear-sighted about the dangers of free digital services. Regan, who is a software developer, gets straight to the point. “There are a lot of services out there that you can access for free and young people use them. They don’t think about the fact that with these services there are always strings attached. But the library doesn’t have those strings.” He goes on to speculate that perhaps with the backlash against fake news people will turn en masse to the library for reliable quality information.

In the meantime, he will continue to share his love for RPL with his friends. “All you have to do is try the library once, and you are hooked.”

Well said, Regan!
