Use our professional quality cameras, lighting equipment, and green screen software to film and edit original video in the Green Screen Flex Studio!
The Green Screen Studio can comfortably fit 10 adults and their equipment. The Green Screen Studio includes film drapes and the green screen.
Reservations are required to use the Green Screen Studio which can be made on these pages or at the Studio itself. You can book time in the green screen flex studio using the GO! button on the right-hand side of this page.
Customers may reserve the Green Screen Studio for up to 3 hours a day. Sessions may be extended at the discretion of staff depending on availability.
Customers will required a valid SILS library card to reserve the Green Screen Studio. The library card used to make the reservation must match the card presented upon check-in. If the customer does not have their card present when checking in a reasonable effort will be made to validate that the customer was the one who made the reservation.
The Green Screen Studio must not be left unattended while reserved and in use. If the responsible card-holder leaves without notifying Digital Media Studio staff (even if others are present from their group), the reservation will be forfeited and future reservations may be denied. Once vacated for more than 15 minutes, RPL reserves the right to remove customer belongings without assuming responsibility or liability thereof and to reassign the room to an available status.
Customers must cancel reservations at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled use. Failure to provide 48 hours' notice of a cancellation may be grounds for suspension of Digital Media Studio privileges.
Customers who have not arrived within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time of their reservation will be considered no-shows and the reservation will be removed. Customers who show up late will not have extended session.
Customers will also need to check out our Green Screen filming kit which comes with a camera, laptop with green screen software, tripod and lighting kit. Customers are welcome to bring their own props and accessories but should alert staff if extensive setup time may be required so we may prepare for your session.
Special use equipment is also available, but must also be checked out on your library card on a per use basis.
Here are a few courses to get you started:
Digital Media Studio workstations, green screen studio, and WhisperRoom recording studio space is bookable in 3 hour blocks during Studio operating hours. The Studio itself can be found next to the Dunlop Art Gallery on the main floor of Central Library.
When you arrive for your booking a Digital Media Studio staff member will be available to walk you through a brief orientation of the equipment and show you where you can access additional support material to guide you through your project.
